The County of Cape May owns and maintains the Ingrams Thorofare Bridge, the high span bridge in Middle Township on Avalon Boulevard, west of the Avalon municipal boundary.  The bridge will be re-decked and the project is expected to take two years, during the off season only.  A temporary traffic signal will be installed on both sides of the bridge as is it anticipated that one lane of traffic will be closed during the majority of this project.  A pre-construction meeting held by the County is anticipated in early November; Avalon will attend that meeting and have more information available on this project.  The contractor for the project will be South State, who completed a similar project on the Roosevelt Boulevard Bridge in Upper Township a few years ago.

The project is expected to begin before the end of the year.  It will continue through early May, 2020 then stop for the summer.  In September, 2020, the project will begin again and is to be completed in May, 2021.

More information will be posted when it becomes available.
