The Avalon Department of Recreation announced the 2018 lineup of the Borough’s popular “Thursdays on Dune” concert series.  Eight free concerts will be held in downtown Avalon in the heart of the business district from late June through August.  The concerts are held Thursdays at 7:00pm, at Avalon Veterans Plaza, 21st Street and Dune Drive.

“Avalon is proud to offer an exciting lineup of some of the best musicians and bands who perform in the Delaware Valley, and beyond”, said Avalon Recreation Director Chuck McDonnell.  “These concerts and the generous support from the Avalon Chamber of Commerce and local businesses truly turns each Thursday evening into a celebration of summer”.

This summer’s “Thursdays on Dune” concert series begins with Jersey Shore favorite Bluebone who will bring their blend of rock and blues to Avalon on Thursday, June 28th.  Here are the bands who are scheduled to perform in Avalon this summer:

July 12th—40 North

July 19th—Lima Bean Riot

July 26th—Eleven Eleven

August 2nd—Boy in Black, tribute to Johnny Cash

August 9th—Radio Neon

August 16th—Jumper

The Avalon Chamber of Commerce and member businesses provide special activities every Thursday evening in Avalon in advance of the free concerts.  The summer will also feature free concerts from the Bay Atlantic Symphony, and free beach movies every Tuesday night on the 30th Street beach.
