NOTICE OF MEETING SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
BOROUGH OF AVALON
Take Notice that the Borough Council of the Borough of Avalon will be holding all regularly scheduled Work Sessions and Regular Meetings in the Meeting Room within Borough Hall, located at 3100 Dune Drive, Avalon, NJ 08202 from this point forward, unless otherwise advertised.
Be Advised, in attempt to contain COVID-19/coronavirus, certain special requirements and procedures will be followed during each and all of said meetings by Borough Council, as listed below.
In accordance with Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders 107, 122, and 142 and Administrative Order 2020-4, as subsequently amended and supplemented, the following shall govern public meetings by the Borough of Avalon (“Borough”) during the COVID-19 State of Emergency and until further notice:
- The Borough Council Meetings will limit attendance to a maximum of 10 persons, exclusive of Borough personnel required to be in attendance at any given Council Meeting. Non-Borough personnel will be admitted on a first come basis. The meetings will occur in the Council Meeting Room on the scheduled dates and times of Work Sessions and Regular Meetings, as previously enacted by Borough Council. The Borough Hall, which has been closed to the public since March, is scheduled to be reopened to the public on a limited basis effective July 6, 2020; however, access thereto by the public will continue to be restricted in order to observe social distancing requirements. Those entering the building will be required to wear face masks, which will not be provided by the Borough.
- All attendees must wear face masks and maintain social distancing requirements during the meetings, with staggered seating being marked and enforced. No one will be admitted to the meetings without a face mask unless the wearing of such mask poses a threat to the individual’s health or safety. Anyone unable to wear a face mask is encouraged to participate by audio as provided herein.
- For additional accessibility to the public, the meetings will also be broadcast via telephonic means during which time the public may participate through use of a conference line and passcode. The phone number and conference passcode are as follows:

THE BOROUGH RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ADMITTANCE TO ANY PERSON WHO IS ILL OR WHO MANIFESTS SYMPTOMS OF ILLNESS OR WHO, IN THE EXERCISE OF REASONABLE JUDGMENT BY BOROUGH OFFICIALS, APPEARS SYMPTOMATIC OF COVID-19.
