There are two types of vendor’s licenses; Peddlers/Hawkers and Solicitors/Canvassers. The Vendor’s Ordinance will help you determine which type of license you should apply for. Vendor’s licenses should be applied for at least 8 weeks in advance. All applications are subject to a background check conducted by the Avalon Police Department, Detective Division. To avoid delays, the Detective Division suggests submitting background applications by April 1st. Click on the link for a Vendor’s Application and send it in with photo copies of your current vehicle registration, insurance, driver’s license and if applicable, veteran’s card and sanitary inspection report. You will be contacted when it is approved and the fee will be due at that time.
