JITNEY LICENSE INFORMATION
Please review the Jitney Ordinance prior to submitting your application. Licenses should be applied for at least 8 weeks in advance. Applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of $10 per owner/operator. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. All applicants will be subject to a background check conducted by the Avalon Police Department. After a completed background check, the Borough Clerk will schedule a hearing before Borough Council to grant or deny the license. The results of this hearing will be forwarded to the Licensing Office. If granted, the decal will be issued. The final step is scheduling an appointment with Paul E. Short, Sr., Code Enforcement Official (609) 967-5922 to issue a jitney license card.

TAXI CAB INFORMATION
Please review the Taxi Cab Ordinance prior to submitting your application. Taxi Licenses should be applied for at least 8 weeks in advance. Applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of $10 per business. All owners and drivers will be subject to a background check conducted by the Avalon Police Department. After a completed background check, the Borough Clerk will schedule a hearing before Borough Council to grant or deny the license. The results of this hearing will be for-warded to the Licensing Office. If granted the vehicle and driver fees will be due and decals will be issued. The final step is scheduling an appointment with Paul E. Short, Sr., Code Enforcement Official (609) 967-5922, to issue a taxi license card to each taxi driver.
No person shall operate a taxicab within the Borough of Avalon unless both the owner and driver of the taxicab are licensed. The Borough Council is the Issuing Authority of all such licenses. A separate license shall be required for each owner and each driver. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Fees
Application fee– $10 per business
Vehicle fee– $50 per vehicle
Driver fee– $35 each per year
Transfer fee– $25
