First responder training in Avalon will occur at the Avalon Elementary School field on Monday evening, May 6th, 2019.  Part of this training will include a helicopter landing involving Midatalntic MedEvac, which will be training with Avalon first responders this evening between the hours of 7:00-9:00pm.

Avalon Rescue uses MedEvac helicopters to expedite transport of some severely injured or ill patients to medical facilities in the southern New Jersey region.  Helicopters are beneficial as ground transport, at times, would negatively affect the patient.

Due to the nature of the training evolutions, access to the aircraft for the public is not possible this evening.  However, Avalon will stage a public demonstration of the aircraft sometime during the upcoming summer so parents and children can learn more about MedEvac operations.  Federal law also strictly prohibits drone use near the active aircraft.
