At the Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 meeting of the Avalon Borough Council, a letter from Avalon Borough Councilman Richard Dean was read into the record.  Councilman Dean resigned from his Council seat effective November 30th, 2018, at 11:59pm.

Borough Council has until December 30th, 2018 to appoint an individual to serve on Council through the end of the term, which expires on June 30th, 2019.  If Council does not appoint someone to serve by December 30th, the seat will remain vacant until the May 7th, 2019 municipal election.

If you are an Avalon resident and interested in being interviewed by Council for to serve out the remainder of Mr. Dean’s term, please supply a letter of interest and a resume.  They will be accepted by the Avalon Municipal Clerk at Avalon Borough Hall, 3100 Dune Drive in Avalon, NJ; materials may also be emailed to Avalon Municipal Clerk Marie Hood at mhood@avalonboro.org.

The application deadline is Wednesday, December 5th, at 4:15pm.  If Borough Council receives applications, interviews will be conducted by Borough Council during a closed session of Avalon Borough Council separate from the regularly scheduled Council meeting on Wednesday, December 12th at a time to be determined.
