The Borough of Avalon has rescheduled the spring bulk trash collection day.  Bulk trash collection was schedule to occur starting May 11th but has been postponed due to uncertainty over the coronavirus pandemic.  Bulk trash may now be placed curbside for collection from June 1st through June 14th, with collection beginning on June 15th.  These dates are again subject to change.

Avalon asks that no bulk trash be placed curbside until June 1st as trash and debris can be blown or washed into storm drains which causes street flooding and other problems.  Construction and remodeling materials are not collected at any time.  Avalon will also have a fall bulk trash cleanup beginning on September 14th.

All special events in Avalon during Mother’s Day weekend have been postponed due to the pandemic.  They include the Avalon Chamber of Commerce’s Wine and Spirits Festival; Avalon Garden Club Yard Sale; Community Paper Shredding Day; Avalon Police Bicycle Auction; and Avalon Volunteer Fire Department Hoagie and Plant Sale.

Additionally, the popular community paper shredding day originally scheduled for May 9th has been moved to Labor Day, Monday, September 7th.  It will be held at Avalon Public Works, 15th Street and Dune Drive in Avalon, from 9:00am-2:00pm.  This is free for Avalon residents and property owners.
