During their November General Membership meeting the Avalon Lions Club presented a check for $6,000 to Habitat for Humanity, Cape May County.   The check was presented by three Lions who also volunteer at Habitat as workers on the building projects or volunteers at the Habitat Restore in Cape May Courthouse.

Habitat is currently building its nineteenth house that will be matched with a family who pitch in to work on it then take on all the responsibilities of home ownership.

Habitat for Humanity is one of more than a dozen Cape May County area charities receiving support from the Lions including the Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children, Family Promise and Holy Redeemer Food Pantry.
