The Avalon Department of Recreation has announced its Summer Beach Movie lineup for 2018.  This summer’s lineup features some films that were huge hits at the box office that are brand new to the lineup of free movies to be shown Tuesday evenings at dusk on Avalon’s 30th Street beach.

“The Summer Beach Movie is one of our most popular attractions every year in Avalon”, said Avalon Department of Recreation Director Chuck McDonnell.  “Every Tuesday evening we see families bringing their beach chairs back to the beach to enjoy a popular movie shown on a large inflatable movie screen”.

One of the highlights of this year’s Summer Beach Movie lineup is the return of the classic Steven Spielberg movie, “Jaws”, on August 7th.  Nearly 1,000 people visited the beach for the first showing of “Jaws” last summer.  “The movie was absolutely a hit, and delighted parents and their children”, McDonnell said.  “Showing ‘Jaws’ is now a must-see on the Avalon beach, with the ocean as the backdrop”.

Here is the Summer Beach Movie lineup for the Avalon beachfront in 2018.  All movies are free to the public with no beach tag needed; in the event of inclement weather, the movies are shown inside Avalon Community Hall:

June 27th—Spider Man Homecoming

July 3rd—Wonder

July 17th—Dispicable Me 3
