About us:

The Avalon Gar­den Club is a non-profit cor­po­ra­tion orga­nized exclu­sively for char­i­ta­ble, sci­en­tific, edu­ca­tional, and lit­er­ary pur­poses, includ­ing shar­ing knowl­edge of nature and conservation.  Projects pro­mote the beau­ti­fi­ca­tion of the Bor­ough of Avalon through plant­ing on Dune Drive islands and in Avalon’s parks and gardens.

Avalon Gar­den Club Brings Com­mu­nity Together to Cel­e­brate Arbor Day on Fri­day, April 25th

The Avalon Gar­den Club held its Arbor Day Cel­e­bra­tion on Fri­day, April 25th with mem­bers of the club, as well as Mayor Mar­tin Pagli­ughi, and rep­re­sen­ta­tives from Bor­ough Coun­cil, and Admin­is­tra­tion, Pub­lic Works, Recre­ation, and Police Depart­ments.   Judy Groff Com­mu­nity Gar­den, 67th and Dune Drive pro­vided the set­ting for the plant­ing of the 2014 Arbor Day tree, a Chan­ti­cleer Pear.  The gar­den is cur­rently being replanted after the dig­ging of the new well.  The tree is the first of many plant­i­ngs as the gar­den is renewed.

The Rev­erend Dr. David Mon­tanye of the First United Methodist Church of Avalon offered the invo­ca­tion, while Mayor Pagli­ughi pre­sented the Arbor Day Procla­ma­tion.  Mrs. John (Peggy) Clarke, AGC Chair­per­son of Parks and Gar­dens, Mrs. Mil­ton (Elsie) Kuhn, AGC Past Pres­i­dent, and Mrs. Vin­cent (Debanne) Macaluso, Envi­ron­men­tal Com­mis­sion, were fea­tured speakers.

A sur­prise addi­tion to the pro­gram was an award to the Bor­ough of Avalon by the Amer­i­can Soci­ety of Land­scape Architects.


AGC Flower Show 2014-Saturday, June 7th, Noon-4:00pm

The Avalon Gar­den Club is pleased to announce the theme for our 2014 flower show.
Get ready for nos­tal­gic themes and music as we “turn back the hands of time“
With cat­e­gories includ­ing a dec­o­rated gar­den party hat and a wed­ding table set for two,we are sure that you will be inspired to enter.
More infor­ma­tion, demon­stra­tions, and pep club meet­ings to fol­low.   Rah rah!  The Flower Show will be held on Sat­ur­day, June 7th, at Avalon Com­mu­nity Hall, 30th Street and the Beach, from Noon-4:00pm.  The pub­lic is invited, with free admission!

Avalon Gar­den Club Fash­ion Show–May 21st

The AGC Annual Fash­ion Show and Lun­cheon will be held on Wednes­day, May 21, 2014 at the Reeds at Shel­ter Haven in Stone Har­bor.  Invite your friends, fam­ily, col­leagues and neigh­bors to join us for a delight­ful after­noon.  Tick­ets $35.00 by reser­va­tion only..call Francine..609–368-3753.  Menu..chicken, pork or fish.  Fash­ions by “Talk of the Walk”,  Stone Har­bor.  Door Prizes, Money Hat Raf­fle, Silent Auc­tion.  Pub­lic Invited.
