It’s hard to keep up with the new rules and regulations in the State of New Jersey during this Covid-19 pandemic. Avalon will have beach ambassadors at select beach paths during Memorial Day weekend to help spread the information about our beaches!

The ambassadors will be handing out two-sided post cards at select beach paths to spread the message. One side discusses the requirements for social distancing on the beach, and the strong recommendation for face masks. The other side discusses beach tag policies.

No beach tags are needed on the Avalon beaches until Friday, July 3rd. The Beach Tag Booth will open Friday, May 22nd at 10:00am. Lifeguards will be on duty this weekend in the event you want to take a dip in the water. As of this Friday, May 22nd, beach chairs/sunbathing is welcome, but you must stay six feet away from others, please. Wearing masks is strongly recommended on the Avalon beach and boardwalk. And, by gubernatorial executive order, there are no organized events or activities allowed on the beaches until further notice. Also this Friday, the boardwalk will be open, again with social distancing requirements.

Unfortunately, this year we have cancelled our Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. HOWEVER, Avalon plans to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and honor our veterans in a very special way..details to follow! Many thanks to our friends at American Legion Post #331 for their support throughout the year.
